The thesis decribes the development of Micromegas detector prototypes for a possible application in future COMPASS++/AMBER experiment. Generalities of radiation detection are described, with a particular focus on micro-pattern gaseous detectors (MPGD) and Micro-Mesh Gaseous Structure Detectors (Micromegas). A Monte Carlo simulation of the first prototype has been performed using a toolkit of softwares (gmsh, elmer, Garfield++); software functioning and simulation results are presented. In the last section, assembling of the prototypes and results of the test are oulined.

Abstract
The thesis decribes the development of Micromegas detector prototypes for a possible application in future COMPASS++/AMBER experiment. Generalities of radiation detection are described, with a particular focus on micro-pattern gaseous detectors (MPGD) and Micro-Mesh Gaseous Structure Detectors (Micromegas). A Monte Carlo simulation of the first prototype has been performed using a toolkit of softwares (gmsh, elmer, Garfield++); software functioning and simulation results are presented. In the last section, assembling of the prototypes and results of the test are oulined.File in questo prodotto:
