Devozione e luoghi di culto nella diocesi di Nardò ¿ Gallipoli: Parabita tra XV e XIX secolo.

This thesis face up some of most important cults present in Parabita (Lecce) between the XV and the XIX century, after the analysis of Parabita's Church in a larger ambit such as Southern Italy's Church, in particular inside diocese of Nardò that will unite with the diocese of Gallipoli in 1986. This thesis will deal with the devotion to Mary present in Parabita, a particular Marian city of the diocese of Nardò thanks to the presence of the cult of Santa Maria della Coltura. Through the various entitlements of the Virgin, we want to see how, between the 15th and 19th centuries, the panorama was broader than the forms of Marian devotion that survived until the present day. Cults linked to particular saints who have played particular importance in the religious context of this community will also be treated. Finally, we will talk about those cults who came to Parabita because of the presence of two monastic orders, the Dominican and the Alcantarines. This religious reality has been noted above all thanks to the informations reported in the diocesan archive of Nardò that, through the pastoral visits and the reports of the parish priests of Parabita, allow to understand how some cults have played an important role for the Land of Parabita, through the dedication and the descriptions of the various cults.

Questa tesi affronta alcuni tra i più importanti culti presenti a Parabita (Lecce) tra il XV e il XIX secolo, dopo aver inserito la Chiesa di Parabita in un quadro più ampio, quello della Chiesa del Mezzogiorno, più in particolare all'interno della diocesi di Nardò, che poi nel 1986 sarà unita a quella di Gallipoli. Si tratterà la devozione legata a Maria presente a Parabita, particolare città mariana della diocesi neretina per la presenza del culto di Santa Maria della Coltura. Attraverso le varie intitolazioni della Vergine, si vuole dimostrare come, tra il Quattrocento e l'Ottocento, il panorama fosse ben più ampio rispetto alle forme di devozione mariana sopravvissute sino ai giorni nostri. Verranno trattati, inoltre, culti legati a particolari santi che hanno rivestito una notevole importanza nel quadro religioso di questa comunità. Infine, si parlerà dei culti giunti a Parabita per via della presenza di due ordini monastici, quello domenicano e quello degli alcantarini. Questa realtà religiosa sarà descritta, soprattutto, grazie alle notizie contenute nell'archivio diocesano di Nardò che, attraverso le visite pastorali e le relazioni dei parroci di Parabita, ci permette di comprendere come alcuni culti abbiano rivestito un ruolo importante nella Terra di Parabita, attraverso le intitolazioni e le descrizioni dei vari luoghi di culto.
