La dissertazione in proposito verterà sull'analisi di determinati temi del romanzo Le Fantôme de l'Opéra di Gaston Leroux, concentrandosi tuttavia precedentemente sullo sviluppo del romanzo poliziesco, genere nel quale rientra il romanzo sopracitato, e di come esso abbia influenzato i vari stili narrativi e temi come la criminologia.
