This work is about the scientific migration, i.e., the migration of researchers all over the world. It is a data driven analysis, and it uses as dataset the one that has been assembled by ORCID, a nonprofit organization that collects the works and the publications of the researchers who have chosen to subscribed, as well as some of their personal information. Thanks to the information about the migrations of the researchers we build the network. The main purpose of the work is to understand if the network structure depends on the local properties of the network, such as, for example, degree distribution and strength distribution, or if the socio-economical and geographical factors are more important.

Abstract
This work is about the scientific migration, i.e., the migration of researchers all over the world. It is a data driven analysis, and it uses as dataset the one that has been assembled by ORCID, a nonprofit organization that collects the works and the publications of the researchers who have chosen to subscribed, as well as some of their personal information. Thanks to the information about the migrations of the researchers we build the network. The main purpose of the work is to understand if the network structure depends on the local properties of the network, such as, for example, degree distribution and strength distribution, or if the socio-economical and geographical factors are more important.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
