Il sex offender tra profili criminologici e prospettive trattamentali.

Sexual crimes are considered brutal criminal actions that creates dangerous consequences on their victims. The criminal, known as ¿sex offender¿ is considered desplicable and object of prejudice. The main purpose of this work is to clarify the dynamics behind criminal activities and analyze the treatment responses proposed by the Italian legal system. The execution of the sentence must allow the offender to re-elaborate his own action, so that, once he is free, he avoids those situations which can lead him back to recidivism. The work is divided into three chapters: the first is concerned about the general inquiry from the criminological point of view, and from the point of view of sexual crime and sex offender, the second chapter talk about the sex offender's therapeutic treatment, compared to the other types of operation at international level. In the final chapter the focus is on a type of treatment initiated at ¿Bollate District Home¿ in Milan, highlighting hos methodology, objectives, strengths and weaknesses. In the final consideration is presented a reflexion about the recovery of sexual offenders. In the penal execution system, along with the penalty it is necessary to include respect for the dignity of the convicted person alongside an individualized re-education treatment, aimed at social reintegration. the offender becomes subject to a path of individualized change that assumes a re-educational project aimed at its social reintegration. Sexual assault is a type of crime that often disturbs the collective conscience, leading to thinking that any treatment is useless. Is always essential to establish the basic factors from which start the project, to make the treatment processes on sex offenders effective, including a high level of professionalism and sensitivity of the treatment operators. The idea behind the treatment is that justice must always be exercised in its reparative and non-punitive nature.
