Some important problems in hadronic physics (including, in particular, in the heavy-flavor sector) involve bilinear quark currents evaluated between different hadronic states. These currents can be considered as operators appearing in a low-energy effective description of a more fundamental theory beyond the Standard Model: as such, they are relevant for precision tests of our current elementary particle theories, and may disclose hints of New Physics above the TeV scale. The calculation of hadronic matrix elements of these quark currents, and their evolution under the renormalization group starting from the hadronic scale, require non-perturbative methods, and can be successfully carried out by means of numerical calculations in the lattice discretization of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). The goal of this thesis consists in determining the renormalization of tensor currents from the analysis of a set of high-precision lattice QCD configurations, generated by the Alpha Collaboration, in which the dynamical effects of the up, down and strange quark flavors are taken into account.

Abstract
The goal of this thesis consists in determining the renormalization of tensor currents from the analysis of a set of high-precision lattice QCD configurations, generated by the Alpha Collaboration, in which the dynamical effects of the up, down and strange quark flavors are taken into account.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
