Natura morta e natura viva nel Castello di Agliè: prime ricognizioni

The present work was born with the aim of investigating the presence of paintings depicting still (and living) lifes inside one of the main Savoy residences, the Castle of Agliè. The thesis is divided into three chapters: the first provides a brief overview of the steps of property of the castle, to the building and decorative interventions, and to the collections present in the building. The second chapter examines the taste for still life within the Savoy collections. The third presents a study and a first census of the paintings preserved inside the castle and depicting still (and living) lifes, through the consultation of the ducal inventories and the bibliography on the subject.

Il presente lavoro nasce con l’obiettivo di indagare la presenza di dipinti raffiguranti nature morte (e vive) all’interno di una delle principali residenze sabaude, il Castello di Agliè. La tesi è articolata in tre capitoli: il primo fornisce una breve panoramica in merito ai passaggi di proprietà del castello, agli interventi edilizi e decorativi, e alle collezioni presenti nell’edificio. Il secondo capitolo esamina il gusto per la natura morta all’interno delle collezioni sabaude. Il terzo presenta uno studio e un primo censimento dei dipinti conservati all’interno del castello e raffiguranti nature morte (e vive), attraverso la consultazione degli inventari ducali e della bibliografia in merito.
