LA RUSSIA IN CECENIA: DOTTRINA MILITARE E D'OPERAZIONE (1994-2009)

This is a comprehensive study of Russian Military and Operational Doctrine during the Russian-Chechen conflicts. I decided to start this work after my stay in the French Military Academy of “Saint-Cyr” during which I had the fortune to take part to a military course offered by the Academy. During this course, I had time and the opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with other Officers and professors all over the world, in particular I had the opportunity to study Russian-Chechen relations presented by different professors from different universities in the world. With my work, I wanted to take stock of Russian military and operational doctrine over the years that have succeeded the USSR collapse based on how Russia faced the two Chechen conflicts and the spread of Islamic terrorism in the Caucasus area. At the end of my thesis, I also put some appendices that can make what I am dealing with easier to understand.
