Abstract

The Chinese economy has interested Europe since the Middle Age, when between the two parties was born a flourishing market. From this moment until the early 1800s, Chinese economy was the largest in the world. To realize how much powerful was, we only need to think that in 1820 Chinese economy was even larger than English economy, the most prosperous in Europe. For many years, during the Mao dictatorship, the leadership strongly believed that the State had to control both the political and the economic power, with the aim to maintain the power and without giving any economic possibilities to the people. Today, China is living a crucial period of development, during which can achieve important results. Made in China 2025 is a strategic plan presented in May 2015 by the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The plan together with the 13th Five Year Plan, is a policy aiming, to improve the quality of the Chinese manufacturing. This strategy has a broader target: it provides a range of goals for both traditional and advanced enterprises, addressing them into a high-tech and innovative phase of manufacturing. Moreover, the policy has another essential goal, giving China the possibility to become independent economically. Made in China 2025 has been thought as a mean to re-launch the Chinese economy, in order to overcome the challenges that the country is facing. Therefore, Made in China 2025 is a strategy with two goals: enhancing Chinese economy and strengthening the accountability of the Party. Indeed, satisfying the needs of the middle class means maintaining the social stability, without sharing political power with the population. Indirectly, the Made in China 2025 project support the regime, because only through the Communist Party, China could reach a prosperous and harmonious society.
