L'IMPATTO DEGLI INVESTIMENTI DIRETTI ESTERI SULL'ECONOMIA ALBANESE

This paper analyzes the evolution and patterns of foreign direct investment in Albania. First, we will develop a qualitative description of the theoretical literature of FDI in developing and in transition countries, and the main determinants in attracting FDI. Then, the focus lies on the positive influence of FDI in the economic growth of Albania. The results found on our statistical analyses, academic publishing and government reports show that FDI contributes to international trade integration, assists human capital formation, enhances competition between businesses, etc. The remainder of this paper outlines the efforts of the country to improve its institutional efficiency and on attracting FDIs.
