L'ABITARE CONDIVISO PER RIPENSARE LE (REL)AZIONI: IL CASO DELLE COABITAZIONI GIOVANILI SOLIDALI

The paper is aimed at investigating the satisfaction of the objectives of the shared cohabitation model of the “Coabitazione Giovanile Solidale” in Turin, which places young volunteers under 35 in public residential housing in exchange for volunteer activities in favor of the neighborhood. In particular,we intend to analyze this reality of social oriented cohousing and observe whether this model is effective in its intent to improve the lives of residents of the most marginal neighborhoods of the city. A qualitative research was conducted with the aid of questionnaires administered to cohabitants and interviews with privileged witnesses. The research was placed within a framework that would allow us to understand the socio-demographic, urban and political dynamics that led to the birth of the phenomenon of Social Housing. The final result is expressed in a description of the Turin experience as an innovative proposal for intervention in public housing areas characterized by strong margins. Critical issues were brought to light, such as the overworking of volunteers and the inefficiency of interventions by the Municipality and local services. However, it is believed that the relationships established between volunteers and neighbors and the reports activated can be considered fundamental elements in attributing value to such experiences and in being able to affirm that the cohabitations pursue the proposed actions.

L’elaborato è volto a indagare la soddisfazione degli obiettivi del modello di coabitare condiviso delle Coabitazioni Giovanili Solidali a Torino che inserisce dei giovani volontari under 35 negli alloggi di edilizia residenziale pubblica in cambio di attività di volontariato a favore del vicinato. In particolare, s’intende analizzare tale realtà di cohousing social oriented e osservare se tale modello sia efficace nei propri intenti di miglioramento della vita dei residenti dei quartieri più marginali della Città. Si è condotta una ricerca di tipo qualitativo mediante l’ausilio di questionari somministrati ai coabitanti e interviste a testimoni privilegiati. La ricerca è stata inserita all’interno di un quadro che permettesse di comprendere le dinamiche socio-demografiche, urbanistiche e politiche che hanno condotto alla nascita del fenomeno del Social Housing. Il risultato finale si esprime in una descrizione dell’esperienza torinese quale proposta innovativa di intervento nelle aree di edilizia residenziale pubblica caratterizzate da forte marginalità. Si sono messe alla luce le criticità, quali il sovraccarico lavorativo nei confronti dei volontari e l’inefficienza degli interventi da parte del Comune e dei servizi territoriali. Tuttavia, si ritiene che le relazioni instaurate tra i volontari e i vicini e le segnalazioni attivate possano ritenersi degli elementi fondamentali nell’attribuire valore a tali esperienze e nel poter affermare che le coabitazioni perseguono le azioni proposte
