Sostenibilità nell'economia del cacao

This paper is mainly focused on the analysis of the major issues linked to the cocoa sector, taking into account in the meantime the related possible solutions by presenting a real business, its operations, its values and its mission. The objective of this dissertation is to underline the increasing need of sustainable practices, fair trade and the application of the Sustainable Development Principles in the Cocoa sector considering the actual unsustainable reality. I have carried out this study thanks to different scientific materials, which are mentioned in the bibliography and webliography at the end of this document, in addition to a direct interview to an agrarian cooperative operating in the sector and one to a cocoa producer who buys cocoa beans from the cooperative before mentioned. These direct contacts have allowed me to understand deeply the dynamics of this market and the point of view of those who are directly involved and all this has been essential for the development of this work.
