Particularly on its evolution and on the characteristics that has developed from the beginnings to nowadays. Once the general framework has been established, the research will focus more on the analysis of the recent medical series: The Good Doctor, a remake of the homonymous South Korean serial, whose format has been taken up. The series was created by the Canadian producer David Shore, who also produced the famous work of "Dr. House ". The work will focus on illustrating the series characteristics, starting from some generalities, and then going into the analysis of some key episodes and the most interesting issues addressed by the series, which characterize the narrative structure and the construction of individual characters, as well as their interaction within the narrative. Then, the analysis will examine the work done on the character of Dr. Murphy made by the actor Freddie Highmore, starting from some of his biographical data and his career and then describing in detail the characteristics that distinguish the character. The work will focus on the actor's technique and the method used by the actor to build the character, in particular analyzing the way in which he made the young surgeon's disability, affected by the savant syndrome. The speech will also make a brief comparison between the series The Good Doctor and Dr. House, highlighting the differences and the analogies that characterize the two main characters. The work will focus then on the explanation of the choice of the autism representation, and of the syndrome of savant, of dr. Murphy made by the actor, compared to other models present in other cinematographic films. The thesis aims to show the features and innovations introduced in the series, and above all to enhance the actor figure of Freddie Highmore, his work and his ability to build and perform a complex character like Dr. Murphy .

Partendo da una panoramica generale sulla serialità televisiva, i suoi generi e la sua evoluzione a livello storico, il lavoro si concentrerà principalmente sul genere medical. In particolar modo sulla sua evoluzione e sulle caratteristiche che ha sviluppato dalle sue origini ad oggi. Una volta stabilito il quadro generale, la ricerca si concentrerà maggiormente sull'analisi della recente serie medical: The Good Doctor, remake dell'omonimo serial sud coreano, di cui è stato ripreso il format. La serie è stata realizzata dal produttore canadese David Shore, realizzatore anche della celebre opera di ¿Dr. House¿. Il lavoro si concentrerà nell'illustrare le caratteristiche della serie, partendo da alcune generalità, per poi addentrarsi nell'analisi di alcuni episodi chiave e delle tematiche più interessanti affrontate dalla stessa, che caratterizzano la struttura narrativa e quella della costruzione dei singoli personaggi, nonché la loro interazione all'interno della narrazione. A questo punto l'analisi prenderà in esame il lavoro fatto sul personaggio del Dr. Murphy da parte dell'attore Freddie Highmore, partendo da alcuni suoi dati biografici e della sua carriera per poi descrivere più dettagliatamente le caratteristiche che contraddistinguono il personaggio. Il lavoro andrà a concentrarsi sulla tecnica attoriale e sul metodo utilizzato dall'attore per la costruzione del personaggio, in particolare analizzando il modo in cui ha reso la disabilità del giovane chirurgo, affetto dalla sindrome del savant. Il discorso farà anche un breve confronto fra le serie The Good Doctor e Dr. House, evidenziando le differenze e i parallelismi che caratterizzano i due protagonisti.
