Anna Karenina: il conflitto tra istinto e ragione. Una proposta di analisi

The dissertation is centered on the character of Anna Karenina, heroine of the eponymous novel by Lev Tolstoj. The aim of this work is to outline her character from different points of view. It will begin with the analysis of her figure as a woman in the role of wife examining the crisis of the marriage of reason used by the aristocracy; we will continue highlighting the role of mother explaining the different relationship with the two children; finally we will consider the role of lover facing the theme of passion to which Anna can not resist. It will then consider the consequences of her choices, the judgment of the society following the scandal she caused by committing adultery, but above all it will analyse the theme of guilt that worries and that troubles her soul up to push her to suicide . It will highlight the courage and at the same time the fragility of a woman who challenges the rules and conventions of her time to follow her instinct and what she really wants. Anna therefore represents the most ferocious criticism and at the same time the clear demonstration of all the subterfuges and lies on which good Russian society is founded.

La dissertazione è centrata sul personaggio di Anna Karenina, eroina dell'eponimo romanzo di Lev Tolstoj. L'obiettivo di questo lavoro è quello di delineare il suo personaggio sotto diversi punti di vista. Si comincerà con l'analisi della sua figura come donna nel ruolo di moglie esaminando la crisi del matrimonio di ragione in uso presso l'aristocrazia; si continuerà mettendo in evidenza il ruolo di madre mostrando il diverso rapporto con i due figli; infine si prenderà in considerazione il ruolo di amante affrontando il tema della passione alla quale Anna non riesce a resistere. Si passerà poi a considerare le conseguenze delle sue scelte, il giudizio della società a seguito dello scandalo da lei provocato commettendo adulterio, ma soprattutto si approfondirà il tema del senso di colpa che l'affligge e che tormenta il suo animo fino a spingerla al suicidio. Si metterà in evidenza il coraggio e al tempo stesso la fragilità di una donna che sfida le regole e le convenzioni del suo tempo per seguire il suo istinto e quello che veramente desidera. Anna quindi, rappresenta la critica più feroce e allo stesso tempo la dimostrazione palese di tutti i sotterfugi e le menzogne su cui si fonda la buona società russa.
