Italianismi: l'influenza italiana nella gastronomia argentina

This paper analyzes Italianisms, which are linguistic borrowings that have entered the Spanish language spoken in Argentina. In particular, it examines the Italianisms that have entered the semantic field of gastronomy due to the mass immigration of the 20th century. These borrowings have entered into the vocabulary of the target language either to fill a lexical gap or because of prestige. They originate from the abilities of bilingual speakers, but they are also used by monolingual communities. The first chapter focuses on the historical reasons behind this phenomenon. The central chapter analyzes the linguistic corpus and it is based on the reserches of linguists such as Meo Zilio and Oscar Conde. The final chapter discusses the role of the Italian language in present-day Argentina. The influence of Italian is still evident in everyday spoken language and in the culture, as the Italian language has created a lasting bridge between two countries that are geographically far away from each other. Traces of Italian can be found in books, recipes but also in the Argentinian streets.

L’elaborato analizza i prestiti linguistici che dall’italiano sono entrati nello spagnolo parlato in Argentina. In particolare, analizza gli italianismi entrati nel campo semantico della gastronomia grazie alle migrazioni di massa avvenute nel XX secolo. Questi prestiti sono entrati nel vocabolario della lingua lingua ricevente per diversi motivi. Possono essere adottati per colmare una lacuna lessicale (prestito di necessità) o per portare prestigio. Nascono dalle abilità di un bilingue ma vengono utilizzati anche dalle comunità monolingui. Il primo capitolo si concentra sulle cause storiche dietro questo fenomeno, il capitolo centrale si concentra sull’analisi del corpus basandosi sugli studi condotti da linguisti come Meo Zilio e Oscar Conde e il capitolo finale parla del ruolo della lingua italiana nell’Argentina odierna. L’influenza della lingua italiana è ancora visibile oggi nella lingua parlata quotidianamente e nella cultura perché l’italiano ha creato un ponte indelebile tra due paesi lontani. È possibile trovare tracce dell’italiano nei libri, nelle ricette ma anche per le strade argentine.
