Amore e inganno a corte: confronto tra Cligès e Flamenca

The following dissertation takes into consideration two texts of medieval literature, respectively of linguistic area d'oïl and d'oc: Cligès written by Chrétien de Troyes and Roman de Flamenca. The intertwining of both works focuses on the seemingly impossible love of two couples of young lovers, resuming, at least apparently, all the literary topoi that characterized the fin'amor. The first two chapters propose to be an introduction (certainly not exhaustive) to the two novels, starting from the socio-cultural environment in which they were composed and in which their authors were educated, to arrive at a brief analysis of the style and the main topics covered. In the third chapter, however, we wanted to deal more specifically with the themes of falling in love and deception, which leads to the realization of union between lovers. Starting from a brief premise intended to outline the main characteristics of Provencal fin'amor, were then considered separately the three couples protagonists of the analyzed texts (Alixandre Soredamor, Cligès and Fenice, Guillem and Flamenca), with the aim of underlining the similarities, but above all the variations on the theme of love, understood according to the trovadoric canons.

La seguente dissertazione prende in considerazione due testi della letteratura medievale, rispettivamente di area linguistica d’oïl e d’oc: il Cligès di Chrétien de Troyes e il Roman de Flamenca. L’intreccio di entrambe le opere si incentra sull’amore apparentemente impossibile di due coppie di giovani amanti riprendendo, almeno apparentemente, tutti i topoi letterari che caratterizzavano la fin’amor cantata dai trovatori provenzali. I primi due capitoli si propongono di essere un’introduzione (certamente non esaustiva) ai due romanzi, a partire dall’ambiente socioculturale nel quale sono stati composti e nel quale i loro autori si sono formati, per giungere poi ad una breve analisi dello stile e delle principali tematiche trattate. Nel terzo capitolo, invece, si è voluto trattare più nello specifico dei temi dell’innamoramento e dell’inganno, che porta alla realizzazione dell’unione tra gli amanti. A partire da una breve premessa intesa a delineare le principali caratteristiche della fin’amor provenzale, sono poi state prese in considerazione separatamente le tre coppie protagoniste dei testi analizzati (Alixandre Soredamor, Cligès e Fenice, Guillem e Flamenca), con l’obbiettivo di sottolineare le similitudini, ma soprattutto le variazioni sul tema dell’amore, inteso secondo i canoni trovadorici.
