Abstract
Warehouse management systems automate and guide a warehouse’s operational processes; however, the traditional models have become less efficient and unsuitable. With the increasingly growing sales in e-commerce and needs of on- demand shoppers, the inventory management needs to be brought to the next level. Internet of Things brings the value of powerful analytics from sensor- generated data and processes optimizations. It enables efficient integration of wearables, RFID, automated guided vehicles and even drones. The employees focus their abilities on more significant tasks while also working in a safer environment. This technology also poses the challenges of high operating costs, data protection and handling the progressively bigger data, but the greater risk is lagging behind competitors and failing to meet the consumer expectations.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
