Una lettura filosofica della Bella e la bestia di Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont

I know that we mainly want to investigate within this tesi is the strong impact those stories have had in the French eighteenth century starting from authors like Perrault, considerino the fact that in that period France was considered the simboli place of the fairy tale. There will be numerous authors who will stand out in this literary panorama, but the one who wants to analyze in detail now is M.me Leprince de Beaumont, author of one of the best know fairy tales or ‘La Bella e la Bestia’: the original story was actually by another writer, who was Villenouve; however, it was version aimed at an adult audience, therefore also containing elements that are used and not suitable for an audience of children. Beaumont will in fact be the first author to rewrite this story, obviously keeping elements of the previous version but mananging to create one of the first works of literature for children.

Ciò che si vuole principalmente indagare all’interno di questa tesi è il forte impatto che i racconti hanno avuto nel ‘700 francese a partire da autori come Perrault, considerando il fatto che proprio in quel periodo la Francia era considerata il luogo simbolo della fiaba. Numerosi saranno gli autori e le autrici che spiccheranno in questo panorama letterario, ma colei che si vuole analizzare nel dettaglio nel nostro lavoro è M.me Leprince de Beaumont, autrice di una delle fiabe maggiormente conosciute, ovvero ‘La Bella e la Bestia’. Il racconto originale era in realtà di un’altra scrittrice, Mme de Villeneuve: si trattava però di una versione rivolta ad un pubblico adulto contenente quindi anche elementi cruenti e non adatti ad un pubblico di bambini. Beaumont sarà infatti la prima autrice a riscrivere questa storia, ovviamente mantenendo elementi della versione precedente, ma riuscendo a creare una delle prime opere di letteratura per l’infanzia, in grado di veicolare al contempo una riflessione filosofica sulla diversità.
