Gli elfi di Tolkien e le loro origini: mito, folclore e letteratura

This thesis aims at exploring Tolkien’s imaginary world and its origins, starting from the origins of the elf figure and how it has been transformed throughout the years. I will analyse in detail Tolkien’s elves, focusing on The Silmarillion and Middle-earth in particular, to show how his pen has forever changed fantasy literature.
