Artémis vise dans le mille! di Paul Beaupère: progetto di traduzione

The topic of this thesis is the translation of children's literature. In particular, the project proposes the translation of the novel Artémis vise dans le mille! by the French writer Paul Beaupère, not yet translated into Italian. Moreover, the project includes the realization of a prototype of the book, in which illustrations, typographical and textual aspects are also taken care of. As far as the objectives' concerned, this project intends to openly address the young reader, while trying to overcome the antagonism between the latter and the adult mediator. At the same time, the translation is intended to be a space for reflection, exploration of one's own feelings and development of critical thinking. To this end, a twofold strategy was used: on the one hand, the respect for the specificity of the source text; on the other hand, the proposal of expressions and vocabulary frequent in the familiar register and in the spontaneous speech of the Italian language and culture, in order to produce an effect similar to that produced on the reader of the original.

L’argomento trattato all’interno della Tesi concerne il tema della traduzione della letteratura per l’infanzia. In particolare, viene proposta la traduzione del romanzo Artémis vise dans le mille! dello scrittore francese Paul Beaupère, non ancora tradotto in lingua italiana. Inoltre, il progetto comprende la realizzazione di un prototipo del libro, in cui vengono curati altresì illustrazioni e aspetti tipografici e paratestuali. Per quanto concerne gli obiettivi, il presente progetto intende rivolgersi apertamente al giovane lettore, pur nel tentativo di superare l’antagonismo tra quest’ultimo ed il mediatore adulto. Al contempo, la traduzione intende costituire uno spazio di riflessione, di esplorazione dei propri sentimenti e di sviluppo di un pensiero critico. A tal fine, ci si è avvalsi di una duplice strategia: da un lato, il rispetto delle specificità del testo fonte; dall’altro, il proporre espressioni e vocaboli frequenti nel registro familiare e nel parlato spontaneo della lingua e cultura italiana, allo scopo di produrre un effetto analogo a quello prodotto sul lettore dell’originale.
