In this work inverse ill-posed problems, in the particular case of compact operator equations, are studied. The focus is on the regularization of such problems through filter methods. The most common methods are presented and a new one based on Chebyshev filters is proposed. A chapter is devoted to showing an application of filter methods to a problem in atmospheric remote sensing.
