I BOSCHI PLANIZIALI DELLA PIANURA PADANA Tecniche di gestione e di valorizzazione

The paper aims to critically describe the woods of the Po Valley by referring to the main examples present in the following Regions: Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia and Emilia-Romagna, included in the "Natura 2000 network". A general framework of these forests is presented and, subsequently, through the acknowledgment of the sections related to the management of the specific forest categories, the management objectives and conservation measures present in the Forest Management Plan, drawn up for each protected area, the characteristic species of the site are described, their composition and management methods, the state of conservation taking into account the relative critical issues present and finally the possible strategies for enhancing and restoring degraded habitats. Finally, they will be briefly described, how the peculiarity of the "civic uses" and the creation of areas used for hunting activity by royal or noble families have influenced the management of the Po Valley woods up to the present day.

L’elaborato ha l’obbiettivo di descrivere in modo critico i boschi della Pianura padana facendo riferimento ai principali esempi presenti nelle seguenti Regioni: Piemonte, Lombardia, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia-Giulia ed Emilia-Romagna, inseriti nella” rete Natura 2000”. Di questi boschi viene presentato un inquadramento generale e, successivamente, tramite la presa visione delle sezioni inerenti alla gestione delle specifiche categorie forestali , gli Obbiettivi gestionali e le Misure di conservazione presenti nel Piano di Gestione Forestale, redatto per ogni area protetta, vengono descritte le specie caratteristiche del sito, la loro composizione e i metodi gestionali, lo stato di conservazione tenente conto delle relative criticità presenti e infine le possibili strategie di valorizzazione e di ripristino degli habitat degradati. Per ultimo, verranno descritti brevemente, come la peculiarità degli “usi civici” e la creazione di aree adibite all’attività venatoria da parte di famiglie Reali o nobili hanno influito sulla gestione dei boschi padani fino ai giorni odierni.
