The objective of this thesis is to give an overview of the sector as of before the global pandemic of COVID-19, as well as analysing its major actors from the strategic point of view and their different business models. This theoretical analysis will then be applied to real case scenarios, to see how the differences in strategy and business models between the major actors influence their operation and their results. Then, the analysis will be expanded to consider the effects that the ongoing pandemic is having on the sector, from both the strategic and the economic point of view, concluding with some hints on how the sector could resume its normal operation, regarding the business model at firm level.
