Dentro l'inchiesta: il caso Report

The essay aims to analyze and argue the transition phases of development that led to the investigation in the journalistic field, focusing the attention on television world, which the investigation is one of the most relevant expressions. The analysis is carried out by covering the various objectives and characteristics that distinguish this macro-genre, up to telling its evolution, during which it finds a strong integration with the entertainment genre, from which the term infotainment originates. It is an hybrid able to keep up with the television offer complex thanks to the meeting between information and the need to entertain the public. An analysis is then mainly focused on definition and social vision of investigative journalism within the community, the origin of the television investigation. The text deals with origins of the journalistic investigation, it looks at the great works of the past that have marked the history of journalism and helped to influence the changes in society. The paper describes some american symbolic events about society, reporting some reflections conducted by authors and directors over the years, and describes some great enterprises of Italian investigative journalism that particularly marked the history. The evolution of investigative journalism and its changes lead not only to the web, but also to the constant presence of television programs dedicated to investigations as "Striscia La Notizia", ​​"Le Iene" and "Report", each of one with differences that distinguish them from the other ones, but the aim of them is not only informing society but also contributed to a real change. The text continues with the central point of the essay: the television program Report, which has been broadcast for more than twenty years thanks to the public service Rai. Report turns out to be one of the greatest expression of the italian television investigation; the essay also recounting its birth, development and performances that have accompanied it over the time. Then there is a technical analysis regarding the current state of the program on the schedule, the target audience and the issues addressed. The elaboration also focuses on the importance of the listening data of the program, introducing the methods used with the Auditel data and the analysis of the qualitative data. Finally there is a look at the relationship between the television program and its audience: an increasingly frequent exchange contact through the use of social media, both by Report and by viewers, without neglecting also some of the inquiries that for the audience really made the difference.

Il seguente elaborato si pone l’obiettivo di analizzare, descrivere ed argomentare le varie fasi di sviluppo che hanno portato all’inchiesta nell’ambito giornalistico, focalizzando l’attenzione al mondo televisivo, del quale l’inchiesta risulta essere una delle espressioni più rilevanti. L’analisi è condotta percorrendo i vari obiettivi e le caratteristiche che contraddistinguono questo macro-genere, fino a raccontarne la sua evoluzione, durante la quale trova una forte integrazione con il genere dell’intrattenimento, da cui prende origine appunto il termine infotainment: un ibrido in grado di tenere testa al complesso dell’offerta televisiva grazie al suo incontro tra informazione e necessità di intrattenere il pubblico.Una prima analisi è prevalentemente incentrata sulla definizione e la visione sociale del giornalismo investigativo all’interno della comunità: culla dell’inchiesta televisiva. Vengono trattate le origini dell’inchiesta giornalistica, con un particolare sguardo a grandi operati del passato che hanno segnato la storia del giornalismo e contribuito ad influire sul cambiamento nella società.L’elaborato descrive eventi simbolici accaduti nella società americana, riportando alcune riflessioni condotte da autori e registi nel corso degli anni, per poi, infine, raccontare alcune grandi imprese del giornalismo investigativo italiano che ne hanno particolarmente segnato la storia. L’evoluzione del giornalismo investigativo ed i suoi cambiamenti conducono non solo al web, bensì anche alla presenza costante e poi ripetuta di programmi televisivi dedicati interamente alle inchieste, tra cui “Striscia La Notizia”, “Le Iene” e “Report”, ciascuno di essi con differenze che lo contraddistinguono dall’altro, ma tutti con l’obiettivo, non solo di informare la società, bensì anche di contribuire ad un reale cambiamento all’interno di essa. Il testo prosegue con il punto centrale dell’elaborato: il programma televisivo Report, in onda da più di vent’anni sul servizio pubblico Rai. Report risulta essere una delle massime espressioni dell’inchiesta televisiva italiana, raccontandone la nascita, il suo sviluppo e le conduzioni che lo hanno accompagnato nel tempo; vi è poi un’analisi più tecnica per quanto concerne l’attuale stato del programma all’interno del palinsesto, il pubblico di riferimento e le tematiche ad oggi affrontate. L’elaborato si focalizza poi sull’importanza dei dati di ascolto del programma, introducendone i metodi utilizzati e svolgendo un resoconto dei dati Auditel misurati e l’analisi dei dati qualitativi rilevati sull’audience. Infine vi è poi uno sguardo al rapporto tra il programma televisivo ed il suo pubblico: un contatto di scambio sempre più frequente attraverso l’utilizzo dei social media, sia da parte di Report, che degli spettatori, senza tralasciare inoltre alcune delle inchieste che per il pubblico hanno davvero fatto la differenza.
