Alla scoperta del francoprovenzale Valdostano: il caso del Messager Valdôtain tra francese e patois

The thesis deals with the history and spread of the Franco-Provençal language in the world, focusing on the case of Aosta Valley. We talk about the history and origins of the language in Valle d'Aosta and all its patois that differ from one municipality to another and sometimes even in the same. Later there will be a brief reference to the Franco-Provençal literature in general but in particular to that of Aosta Valley. Then we will talk about the Messager Valdôtain and its origins from its creation in 1911 to the present day. It is an annual almanac in which all the events of that year are present and most of the information is divided by municipality, in addition to the chronicle there are references to popular sports such as tsan, rebatta and fiolet and also to the annual battle of the cows. Inside there are texts in Italian, French and patois. followed by a brief presentation of authors of works in patois present in the Messager and finally the translation of some comic texts present in the almanac from patois into French, with a brief comment to make known and understood the Franco-Provençal literature of the Aosta Valley.

La tesi tratta della storia e della diffusione della lingua francoprovenzale nel mondo concentrandosi però sul caso della Valle d'Aosta. Nello specifico si parla della storia e delle origini della lingua in Valle d'Aosta e di tutti i suoi patois che differiscono da un comune all'altro e a volte anche nello stesso. In seguito ci sarà un breve accenno alla letteratura francoprovenzale in generale ma in particolare a quella valdostana. Dopodiché si parlerà del Messager Valdôtain e delle sue origini a partire dalla sua creazione nel 1911 fino ai giorni nostri. Si tratta di un almanacco annuale in cui sono presenti tutti gli avvenimenti di quell'anno e la maggior parte delle informazioni vengono suddivise per comune, oltre alla cronaca ci sono riferimenti agli sport popolari come tsan, rebatta e fiolet e anche alla battaglia delle mucche che si tiene ogni anno. All'interno sono presenti testi in italiano, francese e patois. a seguire una breve presentazione di autori di opere in patois presenti nel Messager e infine la traduzione di alcuni testi comici presenti nell'almanacco dal patois al francese, con un breve commento per far conoscere e capire la letteratura francoprovenzale valdostana.
