L'impatto del COVID-19 sull'economia mondiale: il caso italiano

A lot of countries were caught off guard by the Covid-19 pandemic that has been leaving serious consequences in both medical and economic ways. Indeed, lot of countries had adopted strict measures to contain the spread of the virus, however these restrictions have been having negative impact on the economic growth, on the trade balance, on the labour market and on the international tourism. This is what my thesis is about; my aim is to illustrate the economic impact of this pandemic. This is why I decided to focus my attention firstly on a general view of the Italian macroeconomic scenario, then I analysed in a more specific way the international trade and the tourism of our country. These two factors, which impact for 1/3 and 13% on our GDP, are the key of the Italian economic recovery from the 2008 crises. Therefore, I consider them essential for a future recovery. Lastly, I decided to include also the macroeconomic scenario of other 4 countries that have been badly hit by the Coronavirus; this are: Spain – until today the European country with more infected people-, France – second European country for infected people and second European economic power-, USA – first economic power worldwide and up to today first country for number of infected- and China – first country that had to fight against Sars-CoV-2-.

La pandemia causata dal Covid-19 è un evento che ha colto alla sprovvista molti stati e ha lasciato e continua a lasciare importanti conseguenze anche dal punto di vista Economico oltre che sanitario. Infatti, le misure di contenimento adottate da molti governi, in alcuni più e in altri meno stingenti, hanno avuto pesanti ripercussioni sulla crescita economica, sulla bilancia commerciale, sul mondo del lavoro e sul turismo internazionale. Questi, pertanto, saranno i punti trattati nella mia tesi; infatti il mio obiettivo è quello di illustrare le conseguenze economiche di questa pandemia. Per questo motivo ho deciso di focalizzare la mia attenzione nel fornire prima di tutto una visione generale del quadro macroeconomico italiano, per poi passare ad analizzare in modo più specifico il commercio estero ed il turismo nel Belpaese. Proprio questi, che impattano (dati pre-Covid) rispettivamente per 1/3 ed il 13% sul nostro PIL, sono stati i cardini che hanno mosso la ripresa dell'economia italiana dalla crisi del 2008, indi per cui ritengo siano molto importanti per una futura ripresa economica. Infine, ho deciso di includere anche la situazione macroeconomica e quindi gli effetti di questa terribile pandemia in altre 4 nazioni notevolmente coinvolte dal coronavirus, queste sono: Spagna -ad oggi nazione europea con il più alto numero di contagi-, Francia -secondo stato europeo per contagi e seconda potenza economica europea-, Stati Uniti d'America – prima potenza mondiale e ad oggi prima per contagi- ed infine Cina -prima nazione a fronteggiare Sars-CoV-2-.
