La donna durante la Repubblica ed il Franchismo: Carmen Laforet e Mercè Rodoreda

This present study is concerned with the will to analyse the female figure within the Spanish society, during the course of two stages of high degree of consideration for the nation, i.e. the Civil War and the subsequent period of dictatorship, also called Francoism. In particular, the attention is drawn to the process of cultural evolution with respect to women, since it is an extraordinary and heterogeneous context, which offers numerous opportunities of analysis. This research represents a demand, a true verbal declaration in favour of all those women forced to play a secondary and submissive role and against the denial of their right to express themselves freely under countless perspectives, respectively due to the patriarchal conception of the time. After carrying out the relevant studies, the analysis of this topic has represented the fundamental on which this research is based: the ultimate aim of this dissertation is to provide an analysis of the female figure, through the use not only of essays, but also by means of two captivating novels. These latter written by two Spanish women authors, Mercè Rodoreda and Carmen Laforet narrate the events of two female protagonists forced to lead a life according to the precepts of the time and to whom was denied the possibility of living a full life, without giving vent to their instincts and desires.

Il qui presente studio si concentra sulla volontà di analizzare la figura femminile all'interno della società spagnola, durante due tappe di rilevante importanza per la nazione, quali la Guerra Civile, e il susseguente periodo dittatoriale, conosciuto anche come Franchismo. In particolare, si mette in luce il processo culturale di quest'ultima, poiché, rappresenta uno straordinario ed eterogeneo contesto, che offre numerosi spunti di analisi. Questa ricerca rappresenta un reclamo, una denuncia verbale nei confronti di tutte quelle donne forzate a svolgere un ruolo secondario e sottomesso, e contro la negazione del loro diritto di libera espressione sotto innumerevoli prospettive, a causa della concezione patriarcale del tempo. A seguito di studi pertinenti, l'analisi del tema ha rappresentato l'elemento portante sul quale la ricerca si basa: l'obiettivo ultimo di questa tesi è quello di offrire un'analisi della figura femminile, attraverso non solo l'uso di materiale saggistico, ma anche di due coinvolgenti romanzi. Questi ultimi, scritti da due autrici spagnole, Mercè Rodoreda e Carmen Laforet, narrano, a loro volta, gli eventi di due protagoniste, forzate a vivere una vita secondo i principi dell'epoca, alle quali è stata negata la possibilità di vivere pienamente la vita, e la facoltà di dar sfogo ai propri istinti e desideri.
