Carcere e volontariato

Prison is the answer to the repression of what is socially deemed unacceptable by civil society, over the years the regulations have changed the prison reality making the prison a less aggressive reality. The figure of the penitentiary volunteer is precious for those who live in the prison, the volunteers try to fill the "holes" of the penitentiary system trying to bring the reality of the prison closer to the external one. The contribution traces the evolution of penitentiary volunteering and, through my personal experience, underlines the importance of instruction in prison.

Il carcere è la risposta alla repressione di ciò che è ritenuto socialmente inaccettabile dalla società civile, negli anni le normative hanno cambiato la realtà carceraria rendendo il carcere una realtà meno aggressiva. La figura del volontario penitenziario è preziosa per chi vive in carcere, i volontari cercano di riempire i "buchi" del sistema penitenziario cercando di avvicinare la realtà del carcere a quella esterna. Il contributo ripercorre l'evoluzione del volontariato penitenziario e, attraverso la mia esperienza personale, sottolinea l'importanza dell'istruzione in carcere.
