Nowadays in the business, industrial or service provider world and doesn't matter the activity, standards have been made in order to frame the work and the tools that are used or provided. These standards were established by several organizations which are international organization such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), or Regional European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). A standard, according to the definition of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is a document that provides requirements, specifications, guidelines or characteristics that can be used consistently to ensure that materials, products, processes and services are fit for their purpose. The standards cover many fields and areas that go from finance (ISO 13616 Financial services ¿ International bank account number (IBAN)) to vocabulary (ISO 14644-6:2007) passing by architecture (ISO/IEC 24727-1) and medical laboratories (ISO 15189 Medical laboratories ¿ Particular requirements for quality and competence). In this essay we will talk about the quality standards and the process of their implementation in a company. To do so we will at first present what are the quality standards and present some of the most famous standard organizations world widely known and some of their most famous quality standards and try to explain why it is more and more necessary for companies to implement these standards in their organization, then talk about the process of implementing these quality standards in the companies, describing the steps to follow during the process of implantation but also after the monitoring that the companies should do period after the end of the process of implementation.
