This elaborate wants to focus and to bring to comparison two of the greatest and devastating economic crises lived in the last 100 years. The first crisis is the Great depression, started with the collapse of the american stock market in the 1929. After this collapse there was a very big and terrible period of recession for all the Usa and also for the Europe that was in a period of recession after the last war. I want compared this old crisis to the most recent one, that we are also living today. The crisis of the 2007 depended, as all the universal crisis, from the blast of a speculative bubble based on the real estate business. This was the begginig of a long period of recession for all the Europe and for the Usa. I want to analyse the the both differnte situation; the recovery of the United State of America and the worst situation lived in the european zone, also take on the sovereign debts. The european zone is still living a situation of low growth, where the Pil has not reached yet the pre-crisis level, and the recession is stable. A lot of economist are describing this period like a period of secular stagnation, a definition already used in the past to explain the stagnation of the japanese economiy. Not all the economist are agree to define the european situation like this, buti t could be the result of a long recession period. I also try to analyse the differences between the Fed and the BCE, not only for the structural differences, but for the different effeced action to stem the crisis. All this elaborate is based on the idea of explein the the resolutions of today crisis, compared it to the past, to the growth after the Great depression and to understand if is correct call this crisis the Great recession. Maybe I want to understand what we can learn from the past to avoid a new devasting crisis like this.
