In this work we will analyze the various dynamics underlying the phenomenon of infanticide and filicide, a phenomenon that the record current constellation and that has always aroused feelings of disappointment. These crimes are often the manifestation of a disease of family relationships and ties of blood. In recent years, the Italian and international crime has been characterized by an explosion of murders in the field within the family. Nowadays it is very easy to feel inadequate and perhaps unexpected finding themselves in a situation can have an impact on feelings and daily life. In the first chapter outlines the definitions and differences between the phenomena of neonaticide of feticide and infanticide. The second chapter instead sees an excursus on the path of mythology, anthropology and history of filicide. In the third chapter will address the issue of the mother filicidal in criminological perspective, then analyzing the figure of the woman who kills her child, taking into account both the possible prevention of the phenomenon and the security measures once the judgment is final. The fourth chapter will feature an overview of the clinical filicide, we will analyze the various mother suffering from a disease that often consists of a major depressive disorder, or schizophrenia or personality disorders. In the fifth chapter deals with the differences between the maternal and paternal filicide little-known, but equally social impact as the female. The sixth chapter is intended purely criminological scope, it will be examined the behavior of the mother after the death of their son. Nine women will finally be the protagonists of the last chapter, dedicated to the mothers of Castiglione (the only Italian Judicial Psychiatric Hospital that houses women and has no Penitentiary Police).
