The present thesis is intended to present the issues related to the growth of Internet in connection to the procedural law of the European Union. The author will provide a complete scenario of what happens in case of cross-border litigations borne online by analysing both the law and the case law of the European Court of Justice. In the first part, are highlighted the biggest challenges brought by Internet and e-commerce to traditional private law and, the task for the latter to provide an efficient protection of e-consumers. In the second part of this dissertation are outlined, first the peculiarities of consumers and the contracts concluded by them, second the procedural rules of the Brussels I Regulation Recast in case of violations of contracts concluded by consumers. Finally, the last part concerns the rules of jurisdiction set forth by the Brussels I Recast regime in case of copyright infringements.
