The uses of alternative energy sources is fundamental for climate Protection. Among these a possible to choice is represented by the use of wooden biomass gathered in alluvial areas and river banks. This wood products can be obtained from the remains of the river banks cleaning or by planting the Short Rotation Forestry (SRF) in alluvial areas. The biomass can be chipped and burned in energy stations afterwards. Nevertheless, a major problem in represented by the presence of mineral fraction within the cortex that can damage cutting tools. Aim of the study was to determine the amount of mineral compounds within the biomass. The research carried out by analyzing five torrents in the Cuneo and Torino areas. In detail, each torrent was divided in 3 areas from which barks samples were colleted and analyzed for their mineral fraction. the results showed a high presence of the mineral fraction in all the different samples taken independent from their position.

Abstract
In detail, each torrent was divided in 3 areas from which barks samples were colleted and analyzed for their mineral fraction. the results showed a high presence of the mineral fraction in all the different samples taken independent from their position.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
