Finanziamento dell'Innovazione in Brasile: Incontri Istituzionali e Disallineamenti

In the innovation policy field, international institutions with normative power seldom take into account the structural differences and historical backgrounds in the form of institutions and technological development of companies. In order to show the importance of institutional coherence, the thesis describes the relationship conditions of coordination when external finance is needed and the different types of financial systems existent. Additionally, it shows the relationship among institutions and how its interdependency affects the economy efficiency and the type of innovation. Finally, the Brazilian case illustrates the point that institutional arrangements fitted to the status quo of law, resources, financial structure and development history may be a better path towards enhancing external finance access. Policies could be oriented towards improving the institutions that currently work in a given country instead of shifting structures.
