The idea to write this dissertation has been inspired by my linguistic studies based on the courses of English language that I attended at the University of Turin, which focused on Present Day English, Discourse analysis and Language Contact. While studying for each exam, I realized how interesting it was the comparison of the contents of these courses with my own personal experience. English has become part of my ever yday life not only because I am learning this language, but also because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, better Known as Mormon Church. The purpose of this dissertation is to analyse some English features used by the members of the Church. In order to accomplish this task I will analize the history or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the USA and in Italy and the presence of Anglicism in the Italian LDS community (the Anglicims will be taken from registrations made ad hoc).
