L'accessibilità nel sistema turistico: dall'Europa alle Langhe

The main reason that has led me to examine this theme is the fact that the tourism experience, even before being a recognised right, is nowadays considered as a requirement and as an opportunity to enrich people's lives and, for these reasons, it should never be inaccessible to anyone, regardless of his/her necessities or physical conditions. My research focuses on the topic of accessible tourism and its features, paying attention to the European, Italian and Piedmontese initiatives. In the first chapter I will present the development of the tourism phenomenon from its origin to the present day, giving particular regard to social tourism. In the second chapter I will proceed analysing the importance of the chain of accessibility and all the elements that distinguish accessible tourism, moreover I will describe all the universal measures that, if adopted, make a destination suitable for all. Finally, in the third chapter, I will talk about tourism accessibility in relation to the European and Italian context and I will present my case of study: accessible tourism in the Piedmontese region and more specifically in the Langhe, with an analysis of the degree and role of accessibility of two tourist accommodations that are Albergo dell'Agenzia of Pollenzo and Hotel I Castelli of Alba.

La scelta di approfondire questo tema trova la sua ragione principale nel fatto che l'esperienza turistica, prima ancora di essere un diritto riconosciuto, è oggi considerata un bisogno e un'opportunità di arricchimento per la vita degli individui e, per questi motivi, non dovrebbe mai essere resa inaccessibile a nessuno, indipendentemente dalle sue necessità e condizioni fisiche. Il mio lavoro si concentra sul tema del turismo accessibile e le sue caratteristiche, con particolare riguardo alle iniziative europee, italiane e piemontesi. Nel primo capitolo presenterò lo sviluppo del fenomeno turistico dalla sua nascita fino ai giorni nostri, ponendo una particolare attenzione al turismo sociale. Nel secondo capitolo proseguirò analizzando l'importanza della catena dell'accessibilità e tutti gli elementi che contraddistinguono il turismo accessibile, e descrivendo le misure universali da adottare per rendere una destinazione alla portata di tutti. Infine, nel terzo capitolo, approfondirò il tema dell'accessibilità turistica nel panorama europeo ed italiano e presenterò il mio caso di studio: il turismo accessibile nella Regione Piemonte e più in particolare nelle Langhe, con l'analisi del ruolo e del grado di accessibilità di due strutture ricettive ossia l'Albergo dell'Agenzia di Pollenzo e l'Hotel I Castelli di Alba.
