COMITATO ETICO: ATTUALITÀ E PROSPETTIVE

With a chronological discussion, we analyze the Italian legislation regarding the establishment and evolution of the Ethics Committees and the connections that have linked the Italian legislation to the European one from the outset. We have seen how the community legislation has expressed itself as a consequence of the evolution of ethical codes and how the rules of Good Clinical Practice have laid the foundations to give a better perspective on clinical trials and in the protection of the people involved in the study, also by standardizing the how to obtain informed consent. Today the Ethics Committees are organized in a solid network with a European database and a central coordination system.

Con una trattazione cronologica, si analizza la normativa italiana riguardo all'istituzione e l'evoluzione dei Comitati etici e le connessioni che fin dall'origine hanno legato la normativa italiana a quella europea. Si è visto come la normativa comunitaria si sia espressa in conseguenza all'evoluzione dei codici etici e come le norme di Good Clinical Practice abbiano posto le basi per dare una migliore prospettiva sulla sperimentazione clinica e nella tutela delle persone coinvolte nello studio, anche uniformando le modalità di ottenimento del consenso informato. Oggi i Comitati etici sono organizzati in una solida rete con una banca dati europea ed un sistema di coordinamento centrale.
