Il soggiorno italiano di Van Dyck. Fonti e opere.

Antoon Van Dyck's journey to Italy, undertaken between 1621 and 1627, represents a fundamental chapter in the life and career of the Flemish painter. The main objective of this thesis work is to analyze and compare the four biographies dedicated to the painter by Raffaele Soprani, Giovanni Pietro Bellori, Carlo Giuseppe Ratti and the Anonymous of the Louvre. From the comparison of these sources, complementary aspects emerge but also important differences regarding the chronology of the different stages of Van Dyck's Italian journey. The work of comparison and analysis of the texts of the four biographers is preceded by a brief summary of Van Dyck's work in the four most important cities visited during his Italian stay, Rome, Genoa and Palermo.

Il viaggio in Italia di Antoon Van Dyck, intrapreso tra il 1621 e il 1627, rappresenta un capitolo fondamentale nella vita e nella carriera del pittore fiammingo. Il presente lavoro di tesi ha come obiettivo principale quello di analizzare e confrontare le quattro biografie dedicate al pittore da Raffaele Soprani, Giovanni Pietro Bellori, Carlo Giuseppe Ratti e l’Anonimo del Louvre. Dalla comparazione di queste fonti emergono aspetti complementari ma anche importanti differenze riguardo la cronologia delle diverse tappe del viaggio italiano di Van Dyck. Il lavoro di confronto e analisi dei testi dei quattro biografi è preceduto da una breve sintesi dell’operato di Van Dyck nelle quattro città più importanti toccate durante il suo soggiorno italiano, Roma, Genova e Palermo.
