The aim of this work is to characterize the inorganic component of PM10 sampled at Ny-Ålesund (Artic) to individuate the eventual anthropic sources. The samples had been collected on teflon filters, during the sampling campain which took place between the second half of march and the first half of september, in the year 2010. They had been mineralized in an acid matrix (HNO3/H2O2) and than analised with the instruments ICP-AES and HR-ICP-MS. The considered elements are: Al, As, Ba, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Fe, Hg, In, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb, K, Ti, V, Zn and some rare earths (La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb e Lu). The results obtained had been graphically visualized to evaluate the trends of every element and to find eventual correlations between them. In the end we made a chemiometric tratement of the result (Principal Component Analysis) and HCA with the aim to find the correlations between the variables and the similitudes between samples and to suggest the sources of the elements.
