Textile industry plays an important role in global sustainability efforts, particularly in alignment with United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals. This study explores impact of labeling regulations and sustainability certifications on consumer behavior in textile sector. Research aims to assess how compulsory and voluntary labeling standards influence purchasing decisions, contribute to circular economy and how textile sector acts in future to achieve sustainable development. Study begins with an overview research objectives and methodology, followed by analysis of labeling requirements, including European Regulation (EU) 1007/2011. Furthermore, it examines sustainability labels, audit process of these labels and their effects on consumer choices. Additionally, this study observes relationship between textile sector and 17 Sustainable Development Goals with a focus on key areas of development and future trends. A case study of Oscalito provides practical methods to apply in textile sector for sustainable development. Research concludes with key findings on the role of sustainability labels in shaping consumer behavior and industry advancements. Study highlights necessity of transparent labeling and regulatory frameworks to promote sustainable consumption and production in textile industry.
