The second chapter focuses on the direct consequences for the tourism sector, including the introduction of the passport requirement for EU citizens, new negotiations over airline flight rights, and the impact of the pound’s devaluation on tourists’ spending power. Finally, the third chapter analyzes the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system that the UK will introduce in the coming months, assessing its potential implications for European travelers’ mobility. By examining these factors, the research highlights how Brexit has made tourist flows between the UK and the EU more complex, introducing new bureaucratic and economic barriers. However, according to some perspectives, it has also benefited the sector in certain ways. The conclusions emphasize the need to monitor the evolution of migration and travel policies to understand the long-term impact on tourism and the British and European economies.

Questa tesi analizza come l’uscita del Regno Unito dall’Unione Europea abbia influenzato le dinamiche di viaggio tra i due territori. Nel primo capitolo viene esaminato il contesto generale della Brexit, dalle motivazioni che hanno portato al referendum fino agli accordi finali tra Regno Unito e UE. Il secondo capitolo si concentra sulle conseguenze dirette sul settore turistico, tra cui l’introduzione dell’obbligo del passaporto per i cittadini europei, le nuove trattative per i diritti di volo delle compagnie aeree e l’impatto della svalutazione della sterlina sulla capacità di spesa dei turisti.
