Skins e Skam, i cambiamenti dei teen drama dai primi anni Duemila ad oggi

The thesis analyzes the evolution of teen drama from the years 2000 to today, through the comparison between Skins (2006) and Skam (2016). The aim is to highlight changes in gender, both narrative and thematic, and their impact on the audience. In the first chapter we will delve into the concept of teen drama, with a focus on the birth of Skins and Skam, their influences and their Narrative content. The second chapter will be devoted to the analysis of main themes addressed in gender, such as sexuality, religion and mental health, through the characters of the two series. Finally, the third chapter will examine the reactions of the public and the consequences of.success of both series, also focusing on the evolution of language, between politically correct and incorrect. Through this comparison, the thesis aims to show how teen drama has transformed over the years, adapting to changes cultural and social contemporaneity.

La tesi analizza l’evoluzione del teen drama dagli anni Duemila a oggi, attraverso il confronto tra Skins (2006) e Skam (2016). L’obiettivo è evidenziare i cambiamenti avvenuti nel genere, sia a livello narrativo che tematico, e il loro impatto sul pubblico. Nel primo capitolo si apporfondirà il concetto di teen drama, con un focus sulla nascita di Skins e Skam, le loro influenze e i loro contenuti narrativi. Il secondo capitolo sarà dedicato all’analisi dei principali temi trattati nel genere, come sessualità, religione e salute mentale, attraverso i personaggi delle due serie. Infine, il terzo capitolo esaminerà le reazioni del pubblico e le conseguenze del successo di entrambe le serie, soffermandosi anche sull’evoluzione del linguaggio, tra politically correct e incorrect. Attraverso questo confronto, la tesi intende mostrare come il teen drama si sia trasformato nel corso degli anni, adattandosi ai cambiamenti culturali e sociali della contemporaneità.
