Prospettiva sull'identità trans come esperienza a due livelli

This work presents a perspective on trans identity, viewing the experiences of gender-diverse individuals as a type of experience that unfolds on two levels. The text attempts to adopt a non-judgmental and validating perspective on each individual experience, considering that it is influenced and determined not only by social-contextual factors, but also by physical-personal factors. In the first part, the concept of "transsexuality" is introduced, attempting to untangle the problematic issues related to the terminology concerning T* people. The second part of the text addresses the issue of "sex" as a given and indisputable term for determining gender identity; furthermore, in this section, the perspective of Trans-Identity theory is presented, a relational theory that opens up the idea of identity as being determined by three different sources. In the third part of the text, the idea that T* identity can be understood on two levels is properly introduced: a social-contextual level and a physical-personal level. On the first level, transsexuality is considered as an experience of misalignment between the gender identity experienced by the subject and the socially understood gender; on the second level, transsexuality is conceived as the embodiment of a particular lived experience. This approach to T* experience is useful for emphasizing the importance of the lived experience of the individual, highlighting that the experiences of gender-diverse individuals cannot be "reduced" to mere social influences or "personal whims," but rather represent a complex and articulated phenomenon that needs further investigation to open up society to a greater understanding of the phenomenon, bringing it closer to personal lived experiences.

Il presente elaborato presenta una prospettiva sull’identità trans che guarda al vissuto delle persone gender diverse come ad un tipo di esperienza che si declina in due livelli. Nel testo si tenta di avere una prospettiva non giudicante e validante di ogni singola esperienza, considerando che essa è influenzata e determinata non solo da fattori sociali-contestuali, ma anche da fattori fisici-personali. Nella prima parte, si introduce a cosa si intenda per per “transessualità”, tentando dipanare i nodi problematici riguardo la terminologia concernente le persone T*. La seconda parte del testo propone una problematizzazione del “sesso” come termine di paragone “dato” e indiscutibile per la determinazione dell’identità di genere; inoltre, in questa sede viene presentata la prospettiva della Trans-Identity theory, teoria relazionale con la quale ci si apre a un’idea dell’identità come determinata da tre sorgenti diverse. Nella terza parte del testo viene propriamente presentata l’idea che l’identità T* possa essere declinata in due livelli: un livello sociale-contestuale e un livello fisico-personale. Nel primo livello la transessualità è considerata come esperienza di non corrispondenza tra identità di genere esperita dal soggetto e genere socialmente inteso, nel secondo livello la transessualità è concepita come embodiment (incarnazione) di un distacco dal proprio corpo. Tale approccio all’esperienza T* è utile per mettere al centro l’importanza dell’esperienza vissuta dal singolo, mettendo in luce che il vissuto delle persone gender diverse non può essere “ridotto” a mere influenze sociali o a “capricci” personali, ma che è un fenomeno complesso e articolato che va indagato sempre di più per aprire la società a una maggiore comprensione del fenomeno, rendendolo sempre più vicino al vissuto proprio.
