Alle origini del Livre du chevalier errant di Tommaso III di Saluzzo: rassegna bibliografica degli studi sulle fonti dell'opera

The present study offers a bibliographical review of the sources used by the author Thomas III, Marquis of Saluzzo, in writing the Livre du Chevalier Errant, a work that mixes fact and fiction in an allegorical journey through the three realms of Love, Fortune and Knowledge. The aim is to return a faithful reading of the state of studies conducted on the work, so as to facilitate its research and guide any future work. In three chapters, starting from the analysis of the Livre and the author's life, the sources used through the analysis of the studies conducted on it will be highlighted and compared, and the motivations that prompted the author to devote himself to writing it will be investigated.

Il presente studio offre una rassegna bibliografica delle fonti utilizzate dall’autore Tommaso III, marchese di Saluzzo, nella scrittura del Livre du Chevalier Errant, opera che mischia realtà e finzione in un viaggio allegorico nei tre regni di Amore, Fortuna e Conoscenza. L'obiettivo è quello di restituire una lettura fedele della situazione degli studi condotti sull'opera, così da facilitarne la ricerca ed orientare eventuali lavori futuri. In tre capitoli, partendo dall'analisi del Livre e della vita dell'autore, verranno messe in luce e confrontate le fonti utilizzate tramite l'analisi degli studi condotti in merito e indagate le motivazioni che spinsero l'autore a dedicarsi alla stesura.
