Immaginazione e memoria per azioni: un'esplorazione sperimentale

The thesis explores, through an experiment, the cognitive processes of short-term memory and motor imagery. In the first chapter, the various mechanisms of short-term memory are analyzed through various models and theories studied over the years and the crucial role of motor imagery in improving mnemonic abilities. In the second chapter there is the description, divided into phases, of an experiment conducted to verify how different stimuli lead to a better or worse memory of information. The selection and requirements of the participants, the materials used, the procedure adopted and finally the conclusions obtained are illustrated respectively. The results of the experiment show how different stimuli influence the memory and retrieval of information. By highlighting the limitations of the research, it is possible to evaluate a future perspective of other experiments on the topic.

La tesi esplora, attraverso un esperimento, i processi cognitivi della memoria a breve termine e dell'immaginazione motoria. Nel primo capitolo vengono analizzati i vari meccanismi della memoria a breve termine attraverso vari modelli e teorie studiati nel corso degli anni e il ruolo cruciale delle immagini motorie nel miglioramento delle capacità mnemoniche. Nel secondo capitolo c'è la descrizione, divisa in fasi, di un esperimento condotto per verificare come diversi stimoli portino ad una migliore o peggiore memoria delle informazioni. Vengono rispettivamente illustrati la selezione ed i requisiti dei partecipanti, i materiali utilizzati, la procedura adottata ed infine le conclusioni ottenute. I risultati dell'esperimento mostrano come diversi stimoli influenzano la memoria e il recupero delle informazioni. Evidenziando i limiti della ricerca è possibile valutare una prospettiva futura di altri esperimenti sull’argomento.
