Trasposizioni cinematografiche: dalla penna di Roald Dahl alla cinepresa di Wes Anderson

This thesis aims to compare the literary works of Roald Dahl with their cinematic adaptations by Wes Anderson. Through a continuous comparison between the original texts and their film reinterpretations, the focus will be primarily on the animated film "Fantastic Mr. Fox", adapted from Roald Dahl’s 1970 novel "Fantastic Mr. Fox", and the four short films directed by Wes Anderson in 2023, "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Three More", based on four short stories by the renowned author. Key points and passages from these works will be highlighted, with particular attention to the transformations of meaning introduced by Wes Anderson in relation to the themes explored or suggested by Roald Dahl.

Il presente elaborato di tesi si pone come obiettivo il confronto tra l’opera letteraria di Roald Dahl e gli adattamenti cinematografici che di essa realizza Wes Anderson. In un continuo confronto tra opera originale e rielaborazione filmica, ci si concentrerà in particolar modo sul film d’animazione "Fantastic Mr. Fox", tratto dal romanzo "Furbo, il signor Volpe", scritto e pubblicato da Roald Dahl nel 1970, e sui quattro cortometraggi realizzati da Wes Anderson nel 2023, "La meravigliosa storia di Henry Sugar e altre tre storie", tratti da quattro omonimi racconti del celebre scrittore. Si evidenzieranno punti e passaggi chiave delle suddette opere, con una particolare attenzione alle metamorfosi di significato attuate da Wes Anderson nei confronti dei temi trattati o accennati da Roald Dahl.
