L'andaluso nei testi delle sevillanas rocieras: tradizione religiosa, folklore e identità linguistica della Romería del Rocío di Huelva.

The Romería del Rocío is one of Andalusia's most significant religious events, combining spiritual and cultural tradition in an annual celebration in the Huelva area. During the pilgrimage, participants express themselves through the music and dance of the sevillanas rocieras, an art that reflects devout religiosity and Andalusian folklore. A key element of this event is the linguistic aspect: the use of Andalusian is a symbol of belonging and cultural identity. The present study explores the role of Andalusian language variety within this event, analyzing how it reflects the spirit of the Andalusian people and their tradition. The work done in this dissertation highlighted the intertwining of religious tradition, music and language. Although not nationally recognized, as an official language, Andalusian is strongly valued and preserved by its speakers. Through the lyrics of the sevillanas rocieras, language, music, and dance come together in a celebration that embodies the spirit of the Andalusian people. The work is divided into three chapters: the first describes the history and evolution of the Romería del Rocío; the second analyzes the general linguistic characteristics of the Andalusian language variety; and the third connects language use with the musical tradition, examining the texts of the sevillanas rocieras and the linguistic peculiarities that emerged. Ultimately, the analysis underscores the importance of language as a fundamental pillar of Andalusian identity, a guardian of traditions and a strong connection to land and culture.

La Romería del Rocío è uno degli eventi religiosi più significativi dell’Andalusia, che unisce tradizione spirituale e culturale in una celebrazione annuale nel territorio di Huelva. Durante il pellegrinaggio, i partecipanti si esprimono attraverso la musica e la danza delle sevillanas rocieras, un’arte che riflette la devota religiosità e il folklore andaluso. Un elemento fondamentale di questa manifestazione è l’aspetto linguistico: l’uso dell’andaluso è simbolo di appartenenza e identità culturale. Il presente studio esplora il ruolo della varietà linguistica andalusa all'interno di questo evento, analizzando come essa rispecchi l'animo del popolo andaluso e la sua tradizione. Il lavoro svolto in questa dissertazione ha messo in luce l’intreccio tra tradizione religiosa, musica e linguaggio. Sebbene non sia riconosciuto a livello nazionale, come lingua ufficiale, l’andaluso è fortemente valorizzato e preservato dai suoi parlanti. Attraverso i testi delle sevillanas rocieras, la lingua, la musica e il ballo si fondono in una celebrazione che incarna lo spirito del popolo andaluso. Il lavoro si articola in tre capitoli: il primo descrive la storia e l’evoluzione della Romería del Rocío; il secondo analizza le caratteristiche linguistiche generali della varietà linguistica andalusa; il terzo collega l’uso del linguaggio con la tradizione musicale, esaminando i testi delle sevillanas rocieras e le peculiarità linguistiche emerse. In definitiva, l’analisi sottolinea l’importanza della lingua come pilastro fondamentale dell’identità andalusa, custode di tradizioni e di un forte legame con la terra e la cultura.
