Il j-horror: analisi della stagione cinematografica più significativa dell'horror contemporaneo giapponese

This study aims to analyze the branch of Japanese cinema that has gained worldwide recognition as "J-horror." In the first chapter, I will examine the socio-economic conditions under which J-horror emerged, as well as the state of the Japanese film industry at the time of the genre's boom. Additionally, I will seek to identify the primary influences that have shaped J-horror. The subsequent chapters will be dedicated to an in-depth analysis of three of the most significant works within this subgenre: Ring by Hideo Nakata, Pulse by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, and Marebito by Takashi Shimizu.

Il presente studio si propone di analizzare quella branca del cinema giapponese diventata nota in tutto il mondo come "j-horror". Nel primo capitolo indagherò le contingenze socio-economiche entro cui il j-horror è stato codificato, nonché lo stato dell'apparato cinematografico giapponese al momento del boom del filone; cercherò inoltre di rintracciare le principali influenze del j-horror. I restanti capitoli sono dedicati a tre delle opere più importanti del sotto-genere: "Ring", di Hideo Nakata, "Pulse" di Kyioshi Kurosawa; e "Marebito", di Takashi Shimizu.
