Evoluzione delle competenze infermieristiche nella donazione degli organi. La realtà dell'ospedale Molinette a Torino

INTRODUCTION Organ, tissue and cell donation is a voluntary, conscious, informed, ethical, anonymous and free act. In Italy, the National Transplant Network has three levels and works to honour the donor's wishes and to guarantee transplants to patients on waiting lists. OBJECTIVE To analyse the evolution of nursing skills in the context of organ and tissue donation at the Molinette Hospital of Turin from 2000 to the present day, evaluating the improvement of procurement. MATERIALS AND METHODS A literature search was carried out to identify the figure of the nurse and the organisational models of the most important countries in this field. In addition, a field experience was carried out at the Molinette Hospital in order to study the subject in depth. RESULTS 11 articles were selected, divided into 4 tables. For the field experience, a table was provided with data on organ and cornea donation from 2002 to 2023, and the activities of the IEPs (Nurse Experts in Procurement). CONCLUSIONS Since the early 2000s, within the Molinette P.O., the nursing figure has been progressively enriched with skills in the context of the organ and tissue procurement process. This has contributed to the increase in organ and tissue donations and, consequently, transplants.

INTRODUZIONE La donazione di organi, tessuti e cellule è un atto volontario, consapevole, informato, etico, anonimo e gratuito. In Italia, la Rete Nazionale Trapianti si articola su tre livelli e si adopera per onorare la volontà del donatore e per garantire il trapianto ai pazienti in lista d’attesa. OBIETTIVO Analizzare l’evoluzione delle competenze infermieristiche nel contesto della donazione di organi e tessuti, presso il Presidio Ospedaliero Molinette di Torino dal 2000 fino ad oggi, valutando il miglioramento del procurement. MATERIALI E METODI È stata eseguita una ricerca bibliografica per individuare la figura dell’infermiere e i modelli organizzativi dei Paesi più importanti in quest’ambito. Inoltre, è stata svolta un’esperienza sul campo presso il P.O. Molinette, finalizzata ad approfondire l’argomento. RISULTATI Sono stati selezionati 11 articoli, suddivisi in 4 tabelle. Per l’esperienza sul campo, è stata riportata una tabella con i dati relativi alla donazione di organi e cornee dal 2002 al 2023, e le attività di competenza degli IEP (Infermieri Esperti nel Procurement). CONCLUSIONI A partire dai primi anni 2000, all’interno del P.O. Molinette, la figura infermieristica si è progressivamente arricchita di competenze nel contesto del processo di procurement di organi e tessuti. Ciò ha contribuito a determinare l’aumento delle donazioni di organi e tessuti e, conseguentemente, dei trapianti.
