GESTIONE ECONOMICA E SOSTENIBILITÀ FINANZIARIA: IL MODELLO JUVENTUS F.C. S.P.A.

Football has become one of the most relevant industries globally, influencing not only sport, but also the economy and society. However, the industry has faced significant challenges, including the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the financial difficulties of football clubs. This thesis aims to analyse the economic evolution of football, regulatory institutions and the impact of recent events on the sector. The study is divided into three chapters. The first examines the economic development of football and the role of the main regulatory authorities, such as CONI, FIGC and Co.Vi.So.C., highlighting the effects of the pandemic on Italian clubs. The second chapter delves into the financial structure of clubs, analysing the balance sheet through fundamental instruments such as the balance sheet, the income statement and the notes to the accounts. The third chapter focuses on the case of Juventus FC, analysing its balance sheet for the last three years and the strategies adopted to overcome its economic difficulties, with particular attention to the effects of the 2023 sports condemnation. The aim of the research is to highlight the criticalities and opportunities of professional football, proposing strategies to ensure a balance between financial sustainability and sporting competitiveness.

Il calcio è divenuto una delle industrie più rilevanti a livello globale, influenzando non solo lo sport, ma anche l’economia e la società. Tuttavia, il settore ha dovuto affrontare sfide significative, tra cui la crisi economica causata dalla pandemia di COVID-19 e le difficoltà finanziarie delle società calcistiche. Questa tesi si propone di analizzare l’evoluzione economica del calcio, le istituzioni di regolamentazione e l’impatto di eventi recenti sul settore. Lo studio si articola in tre capitoli. Il primo esamina lo sviluppo economico del calcio e il ruolo delle principali autorità di controllo, come il CONI, la FIGC e la Co.Vi.So.C., evidenziando gli effetti della pandemia sulle società italiane. Il secondo capitolo approfondisce la struttura finanziaria dei club, analizzando il bilancio attraverso strumenti fondamentali come lo stato patrimoniale, il conto economico e la nota integrativa. Il terzo capitolo si concentra sul caso della Juventus FC, analizzandone il bilancio dell’ultimo triennio e le strategie adottate per superare le difficoltà economiche, con particolare attenzione agli effetti della condanna sportiva del 2023. L’obiettivo della ricerca è evidenziare le criticità e le opportunità del calcio professionistico, proponendo strategie per garantire un equilibrio tra sostenibilità finanziaria e competitività sportiva.
